What is the McIntosh Apple

McIntosh apple is an apple cultivar, that means it was selected for its characteristics. In other words farmers find favorable traits that apple possesses then select those traits for growing. 

McIntosh apple is not crossbred between any known apples, and was cultivated in 1811 by John McIntosh

McIntosh apple is mainly red with green streaks, it has medium tartness, high crisp, low sweetness, and high juiciness. 

McIntosh apples grow mainly in the U.S, Canada, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. The name McIntosh inspired a product designer from the company Apple Inc. to name the famous MacBook computers after it.
