Why Apples are the Best Fruit in the World

Apples are one of the most versatile fruits in the world. They can be eaten raw, cooked into pies, strudels, brewed into cider both hot and cold and much more! In this post I will tell you why you should eat apples from an apple enthusiast point of view. There are three main aspects why you should eat apples, first and foremost apples taste great, apples are healthy for you, and apples are easy to eat.

Apples are healthy

I think it is quite obvious that eating fruit, and vegetables is good for anyone’s health. The basic idea here is that eating whole foods, that is non-processed food, has many health benefits and little to no health negative effects. Some of the health benefits include what apples contain. To start we can look at the nutrients that come with a large apple.

Nutrition list for apples:

Apple Size: 1 large (3-1/4″ dia) (223 g)

Full breakdown can be found here.

The health benefits of apples can be seen in nutritional facts, but we can also see this from anecdotal evidence. A strange user of the site Quora told about how he eats apples for several days multiple times a year. They state that eating only apples makes them feel much better during the apple only diet. But also makes a point that depending on your prior diet, the effects can vary. This individual is a vegetation just as apple legend Johnny Appleseed was a vegetarian.

It’s clear that eating apples is healthy for you because it is a fruit and all fruits and good for you compared to a standard diet with processed food. Next time you feel bad about eating that cookie, or those fries – just chop away at an apple and feel much better!

Apples Taste Great

Generally, apples are categorized as having a sweet, tangy and juicy flavor. All of these depend on the variety of apple that you choose to eat. When it comes to taste, apples are unmatched in this regard. This is because apples have an ally to help amplify the taste. That being the delicious crisp texture that each bite has. The combination of variable levels of sweetness, tanginess, juiciness, and crisp is the reason apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. Anyone can find an apple that matches their preferences. Do you want medium sweetness, low tanginess, low juiceness, and high crisp? Then a Gala Apple is for you. In addition, the apple’s flavor is simple so that it does not get old. While with other fruits the flavor is too specific and offers no variability.

All in all the apple flavor is undisputed as the king of fruit.

Apples are easy to eat

Apples are quite unique in how they are eaten because of a lot of factors that go into the overall bite of an apple. The first part is the crunch, that crisp while you take that first delicious bite. After sinking your teeth into the apple, the next thing you feel is the slight juice. In combination with that crunch and the apple right after it creates a unique feeling in the mouth. In addition, apples are quite clean to eat compared to more messy fruits such as nectarines, and berrys. You do not need to worry about getting apple juice on your suit, or getting it around your lips. Apples are the most intelligently designed fruit in the world. It’s meant to be eaten, and it’s easy to eat.

The best way to eat an apple is to hold it on one side of the skin for the first couple of bites. Start on one side then work your way around only after you have eaten horizontally. Then you can start eating the vertical bits. Once you get down to only the core left, then you can decide to eat that as well, throw it out or try to grow a sapling.

Traditionally, apples are eaten until you reach the core, then like a respectable human you throw that core away or bury it and hope a seedling starts. However, it’s important to note that the apple core is the most nutritious part of an apple. I will get into more in another post about the core but for now you can read more here. The next time you think about throwing away the core, or burying it but just remember that is the best part for nutritional value.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy that next apple 🙂
